Dr.Lauterbach has over 20 years of engineering experience in precision measurement. He currently spends most of his time training design engineers around the world on emerging measurement technologies and their use in high speed designs.

The Presenter
Mike will discuss measurement challenges faced by mixed signal and serial data designers. He will try to choose examples from his experience that are similar to the applications indicated by his audience – hence the questionnaire below.
If you have a specific topic that you would like him to address please let us know.

Please indicate if you use or would like to test any of the following standards or protocols:

I2C

SPI

UART/RS 232

LIN

Flex Ray

CANBus
Are there any other standards / protocols
that you use such as PCIexpress, SAS, SATA,
DisplayPort, HMDI, HT3 etc ?

Mike will try to use examples from relevant industries.
Please tell us what your company does.

ACA TMetrix is hosting several other “Day with the Expert” sessions in the near future

What you need to know about DC Lab Power

Please select this box if interested:

A presentation by Xantrex covering DC Lab Power supplies, how they work and common application problems. Just once in your career you should learn about one of the most common lab instruments - this 45 minute session could save you days of troubleshooting in the lab.

Protocol testing and debug for Serial data

Please select this box if interested:

Gen 2 SAS/SATA and Gen 2 PCI Express are now almost common place.. but they presented a whole new challenge to design engineers – especially when it came to protocol testing.
Our expert from CATC / Catalyst / LeCroy will present a “how to” session for people that are expecting to get into either of these standards.

Automated functional testing for research and manufacturing

Please select this box if interested:

This event will be presented by the technical staff of Pickering Switch and will cover topics such as:

o LXI - The new LXI (LAN extensions for instruments) standard.
o High frequency switching – design considerations for ATE systems that require RF and microwave switching.
o Fixturing and packaging – what to anticipate when designing fixtures or modular ATE systems.
o Digital testing – ROM emulation and microprocessor testing. o Test program development – estimating the time required to generate test software. Using tools from multiple vendors (Labview, Visual Basic, ATEasy etc).

WiFi and WiMax testing - Azimuth Systems

Please select this box if interested:

A technical presentation about:
o The latest developments in the WiFi, WiMax standards and MIMO
o How these changes influence testing requirements,
o Their experiences of testing during product development and manufacturing QA, and pre-certification.
The emphasis will be on providing a technical training session with lots of examples and practical tips.
